South Sudan

The South Sudan National Spelling Bee (SSNSB) is a project brought forth by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS), a NNGO that is registered with the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SSRRC).

The Bee‘s primary mission is to promote literacy and encourage students to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate in order to better develop 21st-century skills. It also encourages children to engage in learning with an enjoyable and positive attitude.

Primarily and secondary school students in South Sudan are eligible to take part in the competition, which contains three levels: county, state, and national. Winning the county stage will allow participants to compete in the State Finals for the Grand Prize, plus other awards. Lastly, national champions will receive a chance to attend the African Spelling Bee, with their trip fully paid for.
